Apply for Assistance - Guidelines


The following is intended as a guide only. If you are not sure whether you qualify for assistance from SWB please send an email to info@sportswithoutborders.net.au.

Who is eligible to apply?

Sports Without Borders was established in order to assist culturally and linguistically diverse young people from humanitarian and refugee backgrounds.

SWB will assist both individuals and sporting/community organisations based in Victoria, Australia. There are separate application forms which can be downloaded from this site.




Application Deadlines

Applications for funding close on the following dates:

* Round 1 - 28th Feb 2009

* Round 2 - 30th Apr 2009

* Round 3 - 30th Jun 2009

* Round 4 - 29th Aug 2009

* Round 5 - 31st Oct 2009

* Round 6 - 31st Dec 2009

What can be funded?

We provide funds for a diverse range of activities and things. The following list should be used as a guide only. If you require assistance for something that is not on this list, contact us directly and we can advise you as to the suitability of your application.

1. Sporting goods such as equipment and uniforms

2. Payment of Sporting Club memberships

3. Travel expenses

4. Financial assistance for participation in sporting programs/workshops, training, education and mentoring for club volunteers

5. Community sporting events catering for humanitarian and refugee communities





Application Process

1. Applications are processed.

2. Board of Directors make a decision on the success of each application

3. Notification sent to both successful and unsuccessful applicants

4. Successful applicants to send invoice (with ABN Numbers) within 5 working days of notification, failure to do so may result in delay of payment

5. Invoice processed and payment made by the following month

Handy Hints

Applicants should include their relevant club contact details eg address and a contact person(s) details, in their application as the payment will be made directly to the clubs/organisations.
